The Only Watch 2023 Magic

The luxury watch auction of the year is here, and it’s for a very good cause.

Only Watch is a reckoning of the greatest order- a coming together of the most bespoke luxury watches in the world- and this to raise money for researching a rare genetic disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

It takes place once every two years and displays most meticulously created watches by the best luxury brands.

The 2023 Only Watch auction is set to happen on 5 November in Geneva and here is a list of some of the finest luxury watches set to be part of it:

CHOPARDL.U.C 1860 ONLY WATCH EDITION

With a delicate ice-green toned dial and a minimalist design- Chopard has really created a beauty for Only Watch 2023. The shade is not just decorative but is in fact a representation of rare jade icebergs found in nature. Additionally, it is an acknowledgement of the melting of glaciers and climate change which the brand is aware of and wants to help bring positive change toward.

CHANELMADEMOISELLE J12 LA PAUSA ONLY WATCH

Chanel is presenting matching watches inspired by a photograph taken of Mademoiselle Chanel at La Pausa, her villa in the south of France. Featuring her striped jersey and sailor pants clad silhouette, the watches are truly eccentric and created in a classic noir setting. 

LOUIS VUITTONTAMBOUR EINSTEIN AUTOMATA

With a silly Einstein face on the dial- Louis Vuitton has created the true smart watch. Their creative contribution for Only Watch is undoubtedly unusual and bold but it is certainly something that Einstein would appreciate, especially because the details on this collector’s edition go crazy!!The watch case is in 18k white gold and it does not display the time unless a system is activated to do so. Once it is activated, the time is displayed digitally through a notch in Einstein’s forehead and his face also changes expressions! Other cool elements include one of the levers decorated as a portion of his hair, a black alligator strap, and a custom LV trunk case with diamonds.

MORITZ GROSSMANNTREMBLAGE ONLY WATCH

The tremblage only watch is a uniquely crafted piece with a textured background- a rough but matted effect that makes the numbers pop. With  a German silver finish and fine options in strap colours- this piece is a timeless classic.

GIRARD-PERREGAUXGIRARD-PERREGAUX NEO CONSTANT ESCAPEMENT ONLY WATCH EDITION

Girard Perregaux’s contribution piece is inspired by its previous innovation- the Constant Escapement. However, this one adds additional and new features alongside maintaining the strong suits of the first. The watch is a shiny rose gold colour with black nickel plating for the hands and silicon blade spring and movement jewels in purple.

BIVERCATHARSIS

The Catharsis is a bold and daring take on watch-making. It has no visible way of telling the time but utilises a carillon minute repeater. The display is a beautiful scene of the moon in a star-studded sky over the sea, created using sapphires for the sea, silver obsidian for the moon and mother of pearl for the stars; lending an overall effect of lush and smooth beauty.Additionally, apart from having no hands- the watch has no branding either, making it a doubly unique piece.
