The Painterly Dream - Tarun Tahiliani Unveils His 2022 Couture Collection Campaign in Collaboration With The Magnificent Raffles Udaipur

September 2022:

Couturier Tarun Tahiliani, who has more than two decades of experience in the fashion world, is thrilled to announce the unveiling of his 2022 couture campaign shot for the 'The Painterly Dream' collection, which he debuted at the 15th edition of the FDCI India Couture Week last week. This collection pays homage to the great history of our Indian artisan heritage using Tarun's own India Modern aesthetic.

Shot on location and in collaboration with the breathtaking Raffles Udaipur, the campaign features 4 female and 2 male models dressed in the collection aimed at Global Indians who care about the comfort, fit, motion, and ease of the garments; this collection is Tarun's expression of creating something that is timeless in sensibility, global in appeal, and rooted in craft. The pastel-hued collection is a combination of rich earthy tones of age-old patterns with the designer's creative vision to create contemporary designs.

Udaipur is associated with places for beautiful weddings. Raffles Udaipur, encircled by the gorgeous Udai Sagar lake and Aravali mountain range, embodies picture-perfect festivities. A mysterious haven situated on a 21-acre private island, Raffles Udaipur provides spectacular vistas from each of its 101 rooms and suites with plunge pools. With 40,000 square feet of event space, excellent cuisine, and famous hospitality, the hotel is a haven of beauty for both large-scale parties and intimate weddings. This stately estate, located a convenient 20 minutes from the airport, offers the right backdrop to create lasting memories, distinguishing itself as the best site for this campaign catering to the global Indian.

The creative team for the campaign session included photographer Hormis Antony Tharakan, filmmaker Neeraj Hinduja (who has previously made a bigger scale fashion concept film for the business), and fashion stylist Harshad Gadhvi, in addition to Tarun, who led the creative direction for the project.

This collection expresses the language of the studio's craftsmanship in a technical accomplishment of fit and delicacy. The seamless enchantment of the greatest embroidery methods, such as chikankari, pichwai, and kashida, serve as the collection's craft foundations. The constellation curtains and fitted zardozi evoke the meeting of the east and west!

Traditional silhouettes such as lehengas, achkans, jackets over lehengas, sarees, and shararas, infused with age-old craft techniques and coupled with the latest technology and the highest standards of fit and style, capture Tarun Tahiliani's timeless 'India Modern' aesthetic in an evolved avatar of the present.
