Six Senses Zighy Bay embarks on its next out-of-the-ordinary adventure at sea. The freshly renovated Dhahab, which translates to "gold" in Arabic, now offers one- or two-night trips for the ultimate sea-hotel experience.
Guests may explore the stunning coastline and fjords of the Musandam (also known as the Norway of the Middle East) with close friends or family onboard a handcrafted Omani dhow. Once employed by merchants on epic excursions across the ocean, the dhow now sails to Oman's less-explored regions. Mornings are spent visiting small fishing towns untouched by time, afternoons are spent sailing turquoise seas boasting some of the world's most renowned diving locations, and evenings are spent watching the sunset shimmer over the Hajar Mountains. The exquisitely crafted 90-foot (27.5-meter) yacht has three cabins and en suite bathrooms that can accommodate up to six guests.
The trip would not be complete without magnificent meals from a menu carefully designed by a private chef, who can also cater to specific requests or dietary restrictions. In accordance with the Eat Using Six Senses concept, meals are made with locally sourced organic ingredients, including the day's fresh fish. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are always provided, along with morning and afternoon snacks.
"The Dhahab has its own journey, which is to provide unforgettable journeys and unique experiences. "Guests who prefer above-water sports may cruise the fjords in single and tandem kayaks, snorkel, hand-line fish, or hone their tubing talents," explains General Manager Andrew Spearman. "A variety of spa treatments by seasoned Six Senses Spa therapists may also be booked on board the Dhahab, as can fitness and morning yoga lessons. Guests may also participate in a cooking workshop to learn about regional cuisine."
The cruise sails over the glittering seas of Haffa, Sanna't, Lima, Charia, and Hamra, allowing guests to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the underwater world firsthand, with tailor-made diving opportunities for beginners and specialists to explore the vibrant corals and marine life. Inside the Dhahab, there is an extensive collection of board games and a private lounge with on-demand movies. The top deck daybeds and the captain's deck give the most scenic platform for stargazing at night.
A Dhahab experience, inclusive of all meals and soft drinks, costs USD 2,250 per person, per night. Without extras, overnight Dhabab boat hire and crew costs USD 1,166 per person per night.
In addition, Six Senses Zighy Bay has just introduced the "Stay and Cruise" package, which begins at USD 7,250 per person. This includes four nights in a Pool Villa at the resort, daily breakfast at Spice Market, and one night on the Dhabab cruise. As part of the package, visitors will enjoy a private chef on board, complimentary breakfast, lunch, and supper, and soft drinks, as well as complimentary non-motorized water activities. There are several other fee-based activities available upon request, including spa treatments and water skiing.
