The PUMA x Palomo Spain Collection is a Tribute to Gender Diversity & Individual Expression

In an exclusive collaboration, PUMA and PALOMO SPAIN are honouring gender fluidity and freedom of expression

Together, PUMA and Palomo Spain have created a line that celebrates the modern, progressive attitude toward gender diversity while simultaneously delving into the nostalgic world of team sports.

The flamboyant and lavish approach to 1970s fashion is linked to Palomo's characteristic couture-infused, romantic, gender-neutral designs in the PUMA x Palomo Spain collection, which was inspired by football players and their luxurious off-field lifestyle.

By working with PUMA, I was able to go out of my comfort zone and try my hand at creating athletic wear. This inspired me to make a subtle nod to Johan Cruyff, the greatest football legend of the 1970s and the personification of the Palomo Spain style in sports, says Alejandro Gómez Palomo, the brand's founder and creative director. He continues, "It was amazing to cooperate with a firm that has the tools and engineering required to work on things in a manner I can't in my studio and my atelier." This enabled them to take a more technical approach to the collection.

 

 

Intricate embroideries and details are Palomo's signature on the PUMA scale, and here is where a very technological manufacturing method comes in. Heiko Desens, PUMA's global creative director, explains that the collection's traditional, clean form is balanced out by the graphic details.

The gender-neutral collection, which covers 15 different designs, is rife with parallels to traditional team sports, and it has clean, timeless colours like beige, white, and light blue as well as bolder hues like navy blue, burgundy, and bright yellow. One of the standout pieces is a bell-bottomed T7 tracksuit made of cotton and polyester and detailed with piping that has an embroidery of a sinuous PUMA x Palomo Spain logo. The half-zipped polo, with its combination of embroidery and jacquard, the T7 nylon shorts, which go with both basic tees and terry tank tops, the nylon coat, and the printed long-sleeve jersey top round out the collection.

 

 

The Nitefox loafer, with its daring trail-inspired outsole, and the retro-style Weekend shoe are also available. Nitefox also comes in a lace-up boot style. Accessories

Palomo Spain staples like the embroidered headgear and the printed satin scarf are perfect for adding a refined final flourish to any outfit.

From the colours he uses to the fabrics he selects to the historical figures he draws inspiration from, everything about Palomo Spain's approach to design exudes a friendly, approachable vibe. Heiko Desens, Founder and CEO of PUMA, explains that the brand's "joyous spirit" and "feeling of rebellion, rejection of preconceptions, and celebration of self expression" struck a chord with the company's leadership from the start.
