Chaumet welcomes you to experience Botanical – Observing Beauty at the Beaux-Arts de Paris from 16 June to 4 September 2022. This innovative exhibition enables us to see nature through the universal prism of art and beauty, spanning views, periods, and mediums.
As the project's originator, Chaumet relied on its extensive history, one of the most significant in the history of jewellery in Europe, to ensure that its botanical vision resonated with all art forms that have centred on plants.
Botanist Marc Jeanson, the exhibition's director, envisioned Botanical as a herbarium containing the numerous species discovered in Chaumet works.
The audience is invited to experience 5,000 years of art and science via a conversation between paintings, sculptures, fabrics, pictures, and furniture, as well as over 80 jewellery products from Chaumet and other maisons, which include approximately 400 artworks.
More than 70 museums, foundations, galleries, and private collectors have lent works for this exhibition, including the Museum national d'Histoire naturelle, Orsay and Louvre museums, Institut de France, Victoria and Albert Museum, Pistoia Musei, Musée de l'École de Nancy, Kew Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamburger Kunsthalle, and Albion Art Collection in Tokyo, to name a few.
