Swiss Luxury Watchmaker TAG Heuer and Porsche have collaborated to release the TAG Heuer Linked Calibre E4 - Porsche Edition, a high-end connected watch modelled by the look of the all-electric Porsche Taycan. Porsche owners and admirers may use the smartwatch to get access to TAG Heuer's network of specialised sports and wellness applications, as well as a unique watch face.
Design elements of the new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 - Porsche Edition, including hardware and software, are coloured in the same freezing blue as the exterior of the legendary electric Taycan. The dial's design was motivated by both timekeeping circuitry and printed circuit boards. Porsche models that are compatible with the Connected wristwatch may have data shown on the watch face as "complications," such as the car's battery % or the overall kilometres.
The huge 45 mm case is made of black titanium and accented with a metallic frozen blue. The casing is made of sandblasted black titanium, and the bezel, which is polished black ceramic, has a specialised scale running from zero to 400, in reference to the speed of the Porsche automobile, and may be used to read functions associated with the car or to show measures like heart rate. The pushers and the crown are both finished in a distinctive shade of blue that has become synonymous with TAG Heuer: frozen. The number "100" at the top of the bezel and the word "Porsche" at the bottom are both accentuated in a frozen blue colour. Around the LED heart rate sensor utilised by the watch's fitness functions is the inscription "TAG Heuer x Porsche."
The strap of the watch is black calfskin with blue stitching, making it seem like carbon. Its rubber sole makes it ideal for active use. An additional black rubber strap, like with all TAG Heuer Connected timepieces, is included.
Incorporating a modified version of Google's Wear OS system, the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 - Porsche Edition has a variety of unique timers in addition to sport and wellness-oriented applications. Additionally, the watch's owners have access to the unique "Circuit" watch face. There are three chronograph-style complications that may be used to show data from the watch itself (such as a step counter or heart rate) or from compatible Porsche vehicles. All G2 II and G2 models of the Panamera, all 992 models of the 911 from 2022 and after, all 918 models of the Cayenne from 2022 and later, all E3 models of the Cayenne from 2022 and later, all 718 models of the Cayenne, all Macan II/III models, all Macan, and all Taycan models are compatible.
Those who have a suitable Porsche model may sync their watches with their vehicles and see data in the form of "complications" on their wristwatches. Connecting the watch to the automobile is done using the special Wear OS My Porsche app. Initiation has four distinct difficulties. The first is a battery life indicator that can be used with either the all-electric Porsche model or the plug-in hybrid vehicle. The second shows so-called "vehicle autonomy" data, such as the distance driven until the car's fuel or battery supply runs out. The third is an access point for the My Porsche software for Wear OS, which allows the user to rapidly adjust the temperature inside the car. The last factor reveals the overall mileage covered by the vehicle.
