The Bugatti Chiron Profilée1, a unique automobile, will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby's in Paris on 1 February, 2023.
As production of all Bugatti models, including the recently introduced W16 Mistral2, the Bolide3, and all Chiron4 models, has ceased, this auction represents the final opportunity to become one of the few worldwide owners to enjoy a Bugatti hyper sports car and its renowned W16 engine directly from the Atelier in Molsheim.
The Chiron Profilée is a one-of-a-kind automobile that was developed in direct response to consumer desire for something more radical than the Chiron Sport5 but less extreme than the Chiron Pur Sport6, without losing performance or comfort. As the Chiron was fully sold out during the creation of the Profilée, it was impossible to offer it as a full production model. Bugatti has opted to put this one-of-a-kind pre-series vehicle on the road rather than hiding it away.
The automobile just arrived at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, where it will be auctioned by RM Sotheby's — Lot 177/200. When the auctioneer's hammer falls on this very rare property on 1 February at 16:00 CET, it will represent an important event in history. The next owner of the Profilée will get not just a unique piece of Bugatti history, but also the very last new Bugatti with a W16 engine available for purchase straight from the Atelier in Molsheim.
The Profilée is truly unique
There is only one, and there will never be another. It includes a luxurious, handcrafted inside with woven leather, as well as innovative aerodynamic innovations – notably the only sweeping fixed tail in contemporary Bugatti history – and wheels built particularly for this model. In keeping with the Profilée's reputation as a one-of-a-kind automobile, Bugatti's designers devised a distinctive paint colour for it: Argent Atlantique.
In tribute to Bugatti's signature two-tone pattern, a Bleu Royal Carbon tint was put to the exposed carbon fibre of the car's bottom part to compliment this superb finish. Other features exclusive to the Profilée include a custom wheel design inspired by Bugatti's iconic horseshoe grille.
The 380 km/h vehicle, driven by Bugatti's unrivalled 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16, has the same fierce acceleration as the Pur Sport, hitting 100 km/h from a standstill in only 2.3 seconds. Due to its revolutionary aerodynamic design, its maximum speed is 30 kilometres per hour faster than that of the Pur Sport.
Christophe Piochon, president of Bugatti Automobiles, said,
"Due to unprecedented demand for the Chiron models, we were unable to put the Profilée into production, despite all the previous research and testing. But how could we not complete such an exquisitely designed and manufactured automobile? Offering it for auction via RM Sotheby's will allow our customers, as well as Bugatti aficionados worldwide, an opportunity to own and appreciate this really historic automobile."
The Bugatti Profilée has captured the interest of collectors and enthusiasts throughout the globe.
