Every TLX Type S, including the PMC Edition, is equipped with a 355-horsepower turbocharged V6 engine, Super Handling All-Wheel DriveTM (SH-AWD®) with real torque vectoring, Brembo® front brakes, and a double-wishbone front suspension. The Type S-exclusive engine was designed by some of the company's most experienced powertrain engineers, including members of the team that created the NSX's twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid power unit. It was manufactured in Ohio at the Anna Engine Plant. In addition, its Type S-exclusive Sport+ setting sharpens reflexes for enhanced performance and driver satisfaction.
Engineers at Acura designed the TLX Type S as an emotionally engaging, high-performance sedan without compromising practicality or comfort. Every TLX Type S and TLX Type S PMC Edition also has 16-way driver and front passenger sport seats with power-adjustable bolsters, an ELS STUDIO 3D® 17-speaker premium audio system, and a 10.2-inch audio and information display controlled by Acura's acclaimed True Touchpad InterfaceTM.
Standard safety and driver assistance features include the AcuraWatchTM suite of safety and driver assistance technologies and the world's first front passenger airbag engineered to decrease head movement during a collision.
After hand-assembly, each TLX Type S PMC Edition undergoes the same quality assurance procedures as the NSX, including a dyno test, paint inspection, and rough-road simulation. To preserve the paint throughout delivery, PMC Editions are delivered to Acura dealers in enclosed, single-car trailers while draped in a specially developed vehicle cover.
