Underscoring Commitment to Environment Switzerland-Based Richemont Appoints Berangere Ruchat as Sustainability Chief

Dr Bérangère Ruchat has been appointed Chief Sustainability Officer of Compagnie Financière Richemont, reporting to Burkhart Grund, Chief Finance Officer, effective February 1, 2022.
Dr Bérangère Ruchat is expected to use Richemont's leadership position in ESG reporting and commitment to Science-Based Targets to further expand the Group's vision and sustainability ambition.
Dr Ruchat comes from the Firmenich Group in Switzerland, where she previously held the positions of Chief Sustainability Officer and Senior Vice President Sustainability. Dr Ruchat built groundbreaking relationships over her 12-year career, spearheaded Firmenich's sustainability strategy, and oversaw the group's ESG reporting.
Prior to that, she served as Director of Partnerships at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) from 2004 to 2008, having previously directed the Partners in Action Program at the United Nations System Staff College, which she joined in 2000.
In 2016, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development's Leading Women Awards recognised Dr Ruchat for her efforts furthering the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). In 2015, she was also named Ethical Corporation's Head of Sustainability of the Year.
This action exemplifies the actual efforts being made by several major organisations and premium brands to integrate sustainability into their work culture. Sustainable luxury is the new mantra that every luxury brand is now focusing on.
