In anticipation of its late 2022 launch, the brand-new Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, Mexico is already taking bookings.
The Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is a testament to Mexico in that it is equally dedicated to protecting the local ecosystem, honouring Mexico's rich history, and offering guests with an unforgettable five-star vacation.
The resort will provide guests with 157 modern Mexican rooms, many of which will have private pools, as well as four dining options, a world-class golf course, a life-altering spa and wellness experience, and much more.
"In Tamarindo, we are building an unique resort experience that is closely linked physically and spiritually with its surroundings," says Vince Parrotta, Four Seasons President, Hotel Operations - Americas West. Together with our forward-thinking owner partners and the talented designers and craftspeople found across the area, we have created something really unique. Put another way, "if you believe you know Mexico, you haven't gone to Tamarindo."
The Resort's distinguishing feature is that it will only use 2% of the adjacent natural reserve.
General Manager Felix Murillo states, "We are devoted to the notion of'rewilding,' allowing the Earth's natural cycles to thrive and nature to reestablish its equilibrium." Everything we do is based on this philosophy, and we want our visitors to feel a strong connection to the land and the sea so that they may find inner peace and renewed vigour throughout their stay.
Guests will be able to build their own version of paradise in this unexplored corner of Mexico with special amenities including an on-site working farm, Rancho Ortega, and a Discovery Centre that will introduce them to practically infinite exploration and recreational interests.
According to Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramirez of Jalisco, México, "Jalisco is one of the most economically and culturally significant states in Mexico, thanks to its natural riches as well as its lengthy history and culture." Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, México, is pleased to welcome guests from Jalisco and is pleased to showcase the finest of Mexican talent and culture.
The One-Of-A-Kind Partnership
Pedro Verea Hernandez, CEO of Paralelo 19, the owners of Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, México, states, "In Tamarindo, we are displaying the absolute best of what this location has to offer in an unparalleled natural oceanside environment." We're excited to partner with Four Seasons to make this a reality.
Puro talento Mexicano, the celebration of Mexican talent across all design disciplines, is central to the Resort's identity. This concept began with a collaboration between two of Mexico's foremost modern architects, Victor Legorreta and Mauricio Rocha, who formed the firm LegoRocha for this project. Infusing every room and touchpoint with aspects of pre-Hispanic culture and modern Mexican aesthetics, LegoRocha collaborated with lead interior designers Uribe Krayer and Estudio Esterlina. Landscape architect Mario Schjetnan and restaurant designers Esrawe Studio and Bibiana Huber rounded out the team that gave the Resort its modern Mexican aesthetic. From the employee uniforms designed by Mexico City's Kris Goyri to the tableware, hammocks, hampers, candles, and countless functional items and decorative details hand made by philanthropic alliances throughout the country, visitors will feel a deep connection to Mexico's rich heritage and contemporary lifestyle.
About the Nature Preserve
One of the main features of the Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is the Discovery Centre, which serves as a jumping off point for exploring the Reserve's oceanic and tropical ecosystems. The Resort's resident biologists are excited to educate visitors about the area's rich biodiversity, which includes more than 70 indigenous species of fauna and hundreds of birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles spread out throughout the Reserve's more than 3,000 acres (1,220 hectares).
Rancho Ortega, a supplier with a zero-mile policy
While hotels often have their own chef's gardens, the Resort's crew recognised more potential in the region's microclimate and built Rancho Ortega, a 35-acre (14-hectare) working farm. The Resort's restaurants are supplied with genuine zero-mile, root-to-dish vegetables grown here under the direction of Four Seasons Culinary Director Nicolás Piatti using sustainable practises and native and invasive plant species alike. It's a hub for research into things like endangered animals, eco-friendly agricultural practises, and innovative cuisine.
Chef Piatti spent months gathering more items from over the nation, including a variety of unique maize kinds from the Yucatan, and he now has a flock of egg-laying hens roaming the farm and 17 species of fruit trees producing pomegranates, figs, cocoa, guava, and more.
With the approval of Mexico's Tequila Regulatory Council, the resort is growing more than 8,500 agave azul plants, and he beams with pride at the plants' development.
Indulging in a Meal at Four Seasons - The Resort's four dining and drinking establishments will provide settings for everything from candlelit dinners to casual lunches in bare feet and opportunities to toast with old and new friends, all while paying homage to the region's dramatic seasonality and blending traditional flavours with modern techniques and ingredient-forward creativity.
To provide just one example, at Coyul, renowned Mexican chef Elena Reygadas takes contemporary Mexican cuisine in intriguing new ways by using the country's plentiful crop. Sal, located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, is known for its exquisite seafood and handcrafted drinks, both of which are best savoured during the sunset. In addition, the poolside taqueria Nacho serves up authentic Mexican cuisine.
The Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo Offers Even More Reasons to Visit
The therapies at the Four Seasons Spa are meant to help clients feel more attuned to the natural environment and cultural rhythms of the area they are visiting. One of the highlights is a temazcal ceremony, which dates back to pre-Hispanic times and combines the use of medicinal plants with spiritual rites in order to promote introspection, healing, and reconnection.
Three beaches and several coves encircle the peninsula, and there is also a state-of-the-art fitness centre and three pools.
The palm-fringed fairways and greens of El Tamarindo's 18-hole, par-72 course are a hit with golfers, and the surrounding scenery provides breathtaking vistas from every tee. The course has been a favourite of the in-the-know since 1995, and now that it is part of the Four Seasons, it will include the restaurant Nueve and a pro store.
There is a fully supervised Carmelo programme for children ages 5 to 12 that includes activities that teach them to Mexican culture, history, and the beauty of the Reserve's natural environment, and there is also a well-equipped Escondite adolescent centre for younger visitors who desire some alone time.
The private beach and the terraced Melaque Lawn, inspired by juego de pelota, an ancient Mayan ball game, both come equipped with full outdoor kitchens, making the Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo an intriguing possibility for events like corporate retreats, weddings, and family reunions, as well as photo and video shoots.
35 minutes of driving time separates Manzanillo-Costalegre International Airport (ZLO) and the resort's entrance, which is situated between the cities of La Manzanilla and Barra de Navidad. Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Calgary, and Mexico City all have direct flights, and from there, you can connect to destinations throughout North America and the world. The airport may also welcome a small number of private planes. If you need assistance arranging transportation to or from the airport, renting a vehicle, or arriving by boat, please contact the Resort's Tamarindo Experience Experts.
