Vakkaru Maldives Appoints Janice Vigo as Spa Director

Janice Vigo is Spa Director at Vakkaru Maldives

Vakkaru Maldives is delighted to announce the appointment of Janice Vigo as the new Director of Spa. She will be responsible for overseeing daily spa operations, including staff training, treatments, retail, fitness facilities, including yoga, meditation, and wellness programmes.

With more than 17 years of experience in the luxury leisure and hospitality industries, Janice provides a multitude of knowledge and skill in spa and wellness management to the team.

Prior to this, she served in executive capacities at Six Senses Laamu Maldives. She also worked at the One & Only Kanuhura Maldives, the Constance Ephelia Seychelles, the Fregate Island Private Seychelles by Oetker Collection, and the Babylon Warwick Hotel in Baghdad, among other prestigious luxury properties.

Janice possesses certificates in Spa Start-up Management from the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC) and Spa Management from Raison d'Etre Spa & Wellness Consultancy. In addition, she holds certifications in Oncology Massage for Cancer, Bentosa Fire Glass Cupping, Bamboo Massage, Ayurvedic Massage, Facials, Body Treatments, and Singing Bowls.

The RYT Hatha Yoga Teacher Training consisted of 200 hours of instruction.

In addition, she has received training from international spa product manufacturers, such as Pevonia Botanica, Shiseido, Subtle Energy, and Organic Pharmacy, and she possesses an excellent functional knowledge of various spa-related software.
