Vakkaru Maldives Celebrates Health & Happiness With The Appointment of A New Resident Yoga & Fitness Instructor

11 October 2022 -

Baa Atoll, Republic of the Maldives

Vakkaru Maldives celebrates health with the recruitment of Anju Rathi as its new resident yoga and fitness teacher, charged with strengthening the island resort's fitness and wellness programmes. During their time away from the outside world, the tranquil surroundings of the resort and the services of an experienced yoga practitioner are just what visitors need to harmonise mind, body, and spirit.

An adept in numerous yoga practises and methods, Anju Rathi has eight years of yoga experience and a mastery of naturopathy and yoga science. Anju elaborated on her role by stating, "The ancient techniques of yoga rejuvenate the mind and body. My job is to use yoga and its underlying philosophy to cultivate body-mind-spirit awareness, physical flexibility, and strength. In addition, I take a comprehensive approach to fitness training and place a heavy emphasis on execution in order to promote general health and well-being in a relaxing and supportive atmosphere."

Anju, a former athlete and natural-born instructor, is enthusiastic about all types of yoga, including Ashtanga, Yin, Hatha, Restorative, and Therapeutic. She is an expert in assuring the programmatic implementation of all yoga therapy and wellness programmes for advanced practitioners and novices. She regards yoga as a way to a healthy living and has designed numerous transformative mind and body yoga courses, including therapeutic Yoga and Prenatal Yoga, for visitors at Vakkaru Maldives.

Therapeutic yoga is a one-on-one yoga session that employs a holistic or whole-body approach to alleviate pain, arthritis, or other health conditions. Throughout the session, Anju takes participants through particular yoga poses and methods designed to alleviate pain and improve health. During prenatal yoga, she assists expectant mothers in preparing for delivery by concentrating on safe practises and postures during all stages of pregnancy and relaxing the body. Prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that emphasises stretching and mental centering, and has several advantages for both mother and child, such as boosting strength, flexibility, and endurance.

Anju, the resort's fitness teacher, takes a comprehensive approach to fitness training and designs individualised fitness and physical therapy programmes for guests depending on their physical conditions and fitness objectives. Cardiovascular and core training, pilates, High-Intensity Interval Program (HIIT), weight lifting, and beach workouts comprise the training.

Iain McCormack, general manager of Vakkaru Maldives, said on Anju's hiring, "Well-being is now at the centre of our existence. At Vakkaru, we are devoted to increasing the guest experience by consistently addressing the increased need for experiences that speak to the guests' entire well-being. With Anju's transformative yoga, meditation, and fitness programmes, we continue to provide our visitors with life-changing experiences."
