This is definitely going to be one luxury flight for sure.
Virgin Galactic is working with Rolce Royce to develop and design propulsion technology using sustainable aviation fuel for the new Mach 3. The super jet could give some serious competition to top high-speed jets Aerion and Boom if the speed matches up to the companies claim of 2,300 mph.
This collaboration has been followed by authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Center for Emerging Concepts to work with Virgin Galactic towards a certification framework.
Principle engineering of advanced design, Erik Axdahl believes that this can completely transform the way in that people know global travel and that the concept of having high-speed commercial flights is the future of aviation.
The timeline of the big launch has not yet been disclosed by the company and could be years from now. Boom is all set to take its first flight in 2021 as part of the development of its full-scale aircraft.
Aiming at bringing private passengers 50 miles high into the suborbital flight, Virgin Galactic’s ‘SpaceShuttleTwo’ is closer to launch somewhere nearing next year. The design, interiors and technology has been developed to offer the maximum views of Earth, digital HD cameras and the largest mirror on a commercial spaceship.
The cabin has 17 windows with halo lighting that is altered for maximum emotional impact- calming during take-off, invigorating during boost and fades to black once in space.
Jeremy Brown who happens to be the design director of Virgin Galactic is excited about the neat design and exudes enthusiasm about the overall design clothing and contemporary furniture on the flight.
Luxury aviation will surely never be the same again.
