Historically, the beverage industry is one of the most recession resilient industry. Despite the Covis-19 crisis, a significant amount of spike in sales is noticed in the alcoholic beverage industry. During these times when people are avoiding social gatherings in pubs and bars, many wines and spirits brands are seeing the relevance of virtual reality experience, to keep their customer base intact.

Primarily virtual reality tools are used by wine industry for virtual wine tasting and tours. The idea is to give wine lovers the opportunity to visit their favorite winery virtually. This has become a major platform for the wines & spirits industry for their marketing communication specially during a pandemic situation when consumers feel their need for socializing and attending wine tasting events. This is turning out to be a great way to conduct virtual trade shows and beverage tasting events.

 

 

Diageo’s new social campaign, ‘Virtual Good Host Guide’ 

British multinational alcoholic beverage company, Diageo has launched their new social media campaign ‘Virtual Good Host Guide’ to help their customers to join the world of virtual hosting.

The campaign provides digital hosting tips through a series of short animated clips. The customers can even choose their own theme for online celebrations and select their perfect playlist. They can also remind people about measuring their pours.

It is Diageo’s long-standing commitment to ‘promote positive drinking through moderation’ and this is promoted through their ‘Virtual Good Host Guide’ social campaign. This is currently running on the Instagram, Facebook page and Twitter channels of Diageo.

As per Ewan Andrew, Chief Sustainability officer of Diageo,” While we will navigate the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to provide tips to help people be good virtual hosts as they socialize with friends and family. This guide serves up great tips in an accessible format and will help people make positive and responsible choices about alcohol at home.”

 

 

 “The Perfect Match” Instagram series of Moet & Chandon
 

‘The Perfect Match’ Instagram series has been launched by the champagne house of LVMH group, Moet & Chandon. In this online series, Moet & Chandon signature cuvées and Michelin star recipes are paired together.

In this online series various pairings of memorable food and wine  are shared by the company’s Chef de Cave Benoit Gouez along with Michelin-starred Chef and Moet & Chandon Ambassador Yannick Alléno. They are the main stars of this show.

In the first episode , Moet Imperial , the house’s flagship champagne was featured . Alléno prepared brioche canapé dish, olive tapenade and simple shrimp to pair to pair with Moet Imperial. The other three episodes featured some custom recipes for Grand Vintage 2012, Imperial 1869 cocktail and Moet & Chandon’s Rose Imperial.
