The monsoon breathes new life into the palm-fringed beaches of Koh Samui, with its seductive wafts of moist soil, the dramatic movement of clouds as they migrate over the horizon, and the crispness in the air.
The island spirit remains undimmed despite the intermittent rain that the monsoon brings. Hannes Schneider, manager of the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, says,
"In fact, it is recharged and refreshed."
Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the season and explore the Resort's tropical island setting.
Find Your Centre in Nature
The Secret Garden Spa was built to seem like a tropical paradise, complete with fern-lined ponds and winding paths through the foliage. Spa Director Kotchaphan Mekloy believes that during the rainy season, the Nam Bliss Ritual Massage has a deeper spiritual quality. This routine starts with a cleansing scrub of rosemary and sage, followed by a wet herbal steam, creating an immersive experience that relies on the calming powers of water.
After a warm bath with tropical flower petals, she says,
"the highlight of this treatment is a Jade Gua Sha massage to boost immunity and restore youthfulness."
Yoga and meditation classes are also available in the spa's outdoor Yoga Sala, which is surrounded by swaying coconut palms and has breathtaking views of the ocean.
"We can also arrange a private session in your villa,"
Mekloy explains.
You and I Alone
A romantic ambiance is created by the natural harmony of lush vegetation and blue waterways. If staying in is more your style, Schneider offers perusing our library and gathering everyone for the ideal movie-watching experience in our private theatre.
Mix, Shake, and Dish OutThe sunlight is spotty, so you may enjoy drinks by the infinity pool or the beach for brief periods.
"Our Rum Vault, a library of premium rums from across the world, offers the perfect way to spend an evening together,"
says I Made Dwiki Prayoga, the bar manager.
During the tasting, you'll pick up some interesting tidbits about rum's past and its ties to the tropics.
Time Well Spent with the Kids
Guests may learn the ins and outs of southern Thai cooking at the hillside Koh Thai Kitchen. Slow-cooked curries and the finest seafood caught locally are served to visitors by Chef de Cuisine Sumalee Khunpet.
"In this fun and interactive session, you'll learn how to make two local dishes from the Resort menu using vibrant local spices and aromatic herbs,"
adds Khunpet.
Free of charge, kids may participate in Kids For All Seasons, an immersive programme that offers a variety of activities such as umbrella painting, sea shell crafts, and canvas self-portrait art.Dine in StyleThe villas provide some of the nicest tropical views during the wet season since they are tucked away in lush vegetation and look out over the Gulf of Thailand.
Schneider recommends having a "Thai-style Moo Kra Ta BBQ" with the family on the balcony or having a romantic evening for two. We provide a wide variety of options for your private villa meal.
Shut Off and Unwind
Guests may relax at the end of the day with a hot bath poured by a butler.
"Our bath menu features the finest local products intended to calm the mind, nourish the skin, and promote a restful sleep,"
explains Mekloy.
Make a reservation and take advantage of the green season to enjoy the perks of your stay.
