On January 27, 2023, Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach honoured the culinary legacy of North & South India with the grand opening of their unique restaurant, Zaffran.

Zaffran strives to stimulate all of your senses by combining background music and Indian live acts that induce a feeling of peace with a high-octane open kitchen infused with delicious Indian flavour.

Inspired only by the restaurant's Mughlai cuisine, which has been a local symbol since its opening, the hotel renovated the area to make it brighter and more inviting. The colour palettes of pinks and blues, as well as royal and champion hues, are fresh new palettes with textiles and wallpapers produced by a number of Indian designers.

Guests are greeted with a touch of whimsy by authentic antique armour placed opposite the entry and artwork that mimics ancient playing cards depicting Mughal princes and princesses. Numerous aesthetic features, such as the enormous marble elephants at the entrance of the new lobby expansion and the elaborate cutwork jaalis that are lighted and offer a feeling of intricacy to the space, add depth and layers to the room.

Zaffran provides a plethora of unique vegetarian and non-vegetarian traditional cuisines, such as scrumptious versions of kebabs and biryani from the north and south of India, for the discerning gourmet. Chef Jamaluddin Khan has devised the new menu at Zaffran, which features a mix of Indian dishes, in an effort to enhance the rich culinary tradition of India. The restaurant's hallmark dishes include the Zaffrani Royal Platter, Zaffrani Murg Tikka, Gosht Seekh Kebab Zaikedaar, Andaz-e-Paneer, Zaffrani Moti Pulao, Galouti, and Royal Biriyanis. In addition to other options, the menu has Kesari Ras Malai and Almond Rabri Cake for sweet tooths.

This well-designed offering of Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach has a nice view of the Bay of Bengal, which is best appreciated from the two private dining rooms at this establishment. The chandeliers offer a sense of luxury since glitz and shine were required to complete the dining atmosphere.
