The Academy of Costume and Fashion is a moral body which works in the fashion industry to groom upcoming fashion designers and creators. It is legally recognized by MIUR and based in Rome. This academy is making the future of the fashion industry bright and dazzling by being active in training in the fields of fashion stylism, theatrical and cinematographic costume, jewelry stylism, communication as well as journalism in fashion. The courses offered by The Academy of Costume and Fashion are exclusive and effective enough for one to understand the core of the fashion industry, the needs of the people and the trends in the fashion industry. The academy was founded in the year 1964 by the will of Rosana Pistolese, Ottavio Spadaro, Dario Cecchi and Nello Ponente in Rome by issuing the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and with the patronage of the Municipality of Rome. Giulio Andreotti and Susanna Agnelli were honorary presidents of The Academy of Costume and Fashion.

In the year 2014, on the special occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the foundation of this academy, a volume entitled Accademia costume e moda 1964-2014 was released by Palombi Editori by Maria di Napoli Rampolla and Antonio Mancinelli. 

The Academy is located in Rome which is rich in culture and the structures and people here are the inspiration behind many of the fashion trends in the industry. The Academy has a newspaper library containing about 4000 monographic volumes which is more than enough for one to understand what fashion actually means. It also has more than 10,000 issues of magazines which are related to fashion, costume, brands, art history as well as the performing arts. This material is exclusive enough to get one in the magical world of fashion and designs. It contains many precious collections which includes the Irene Brin donation with a collection of issues of Harper's Bazaar magazine. This also includes the first issue of 1867 and the Rosana Pistolese Archive.

The Academy of Costume and Fashion is one of the renowned institutes that the fashion industry has ever known. This academy is a part of the Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance of the MIUR.  This is one of the top most Fashion Training System Platforms which enjoys the patronage of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion .

In the year 1964, this academy was introduced to the world by fashion and costume Historian and Designer Rosana Pistolese. And currently, it is making a huge difference in making a better future for the whole community of fashion bloggers and creators.
