Bally
This luxury brand is almost one and half century old and is famous worldwide for its luxuriousness and high functioning products. Bally, a historical brand, founded as 'Bally&Co' in 1851, was established in Schönenwerd, Switzerland, when the founders Carl Franz Bally and his brother Fritz decided to start a company which makes shoes. The inspiration behind this brand was: Carl brought shoes for his wife from Paris and he liked the design of the shoes and got inspired to make luxurious quality shoes himself. The first batch of shoes produced by the company were entirely handmade and were made at Carl's home with the help of the best shoemakers in their village. However, due to the popularity of their shoes, their business grew rapidly and they had to open a warehouse for production in 1854. Due to its historic origin, the brand, today, is well established and well reputed in the fashion market. Their products are created to be approachable for the customers for daily wear with reliable Swiss quality.
The brand started by Bally brothers was later named just 'Bally' because Fritz Bally left this business few years later its foundation. This brand truly evolved from producing entirely handmade shoes to incorporating modern technology and techniques to make award-winning shoes for hardcore athletics. This family business got remarkable public attention when they designed shoes for Neil Armstrong for his first journey to moon. Other than that, they even designed footwear for Tenzing Norway, who reached the highest point of Mount Everest with these shoes. Such achievements strengthened customer's belief and loyalty to Bally. This Swiss label is presently flourishing under CEO Nicholas Girotto's guidance. The CEO approaches the customer by making their brand not too exclusive but an everyday wearable brand. They offer wide range of products for men and women with footwear being the core of the brand but other products such as accessories(bags, belts, etc.) and ready-to-wear.
Bally is currently owned by Shandong Ruyi, who is a Chinese giant. The head office of the brand is situated at Caslano, and other stores of it are spread all across the world. Bally designed their world-famous shoe designs in their personal lab, 'Bally Lab' which was established in 1927 to explore innovative designs and techniques for leather production processes. However, their journey haven't been all roses. Their business went downhill during globalization when countries started delivering cheap quality material for their products. This lead to loss of customer and then later they gradually upgraded their quality to being high end again. There have been highs and lows for this heritage label, but it still manages to come across as the most reliable brand for the market. They even inaugurated a museum to honour the heritage and celebrate its history. The Bally Shoe Museum, founded in 1942, showcases the production and evolution of shoes. This museum is considered as one of the three best museums across the world.
Bally has perfectly acquired and managed the world-class craftsmanship and design to create their prizewinner shoes, and later other daily requirements The brand balances between being top class for athletes and comfortable for daily use.
