The company is now shepherd by the third generation with Gildo as CEO, Paolo as Chairman, and Anna as President of Fondazione Zegna. Currently, the fourth generation is into action and leading the company and continues to innovate. The company's success depends on how it performs day by day. The founder of Zegna group was thinking ahead of his time. He sourced the best quality natural fibers from the best places, imported them from their origin to Italy to be expertly woven, and along with that exported these luxury fabrics while promoting the Zegna brand all over the world. Ermenegildo's brilliant business mind had a vision beyond the luxury business, it was not limited to his particular industrial field. He understood the fact that the quality he sought for the products of the Zegna group couldn’t be detached from a positive relationship with the local territory and the community. 

The founder of Zegna group understood the charm of the natural environment and people’s well-being. He wanted to make the world a better place starting from his own hometown. Born in the market as fabric makers, Zegna group has evolved into read-to-wear with time. Each generation of the family is trying its best in contributing the best fabrics; they are dedicated to consolidating Ermenegildo Zegna’s legacy. From opening its first boutique in Paris in 1980, followed by shops in London and Milan the Zegna group has been raising like a phoenix. When, in 1991, it introduced its boutique in Beijing, it was the first ever luxury menswear brand to open in China, continuing the entrepreneurial spirit of the founder. Ermenegildo Zegna has now become the world leader in luxury menswear with a retail network. This network is so wide that it covers more than 500 stores in over 100 countries all over the world. Zegna’s global expansion has been initiated through a comprehensive strategy, lots of creative minds and verticalization including the purchase and takeover of the Achill Farm in Australia that allows fully integrated production of the Merino wool from sheep to shop. This expansion has helped Zegna group to be a recognized brand globally.
