Fashionphile is a renowned name in the fashion industry. It is an online fashion resale website where consumers get the facility to buy as well as sell women's luxury designer used handbags and jewelry. Fashionphile is situated at brick-and-mortar locations in Beverly Hills, in San Francisco, New York City and Carlsbad, California. Fashionphile was founded in 1999, by Sarah Davis. The creative ideas with a right business mind lead in the market so she started the business. In 2006, Davis made partnership with her brother-in-law Ben Hemminger in order to expand the business and moved it to Beverly Hills in California; they sold pre-owned luxury handbags on eBay. In 2007, they launched a website to sell the products. Later in 2008, they opened their first store space off Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills itself. In 2009, the company's growth drove its next move shortly afterwards to open their new store on Maiden Lane in San Francisco. The company grows and grows more, in 2011, Fashionphile moved to Maiden which is now their current location. In 2012, in California, Fashionphile opened a warehouse headquarters. Seeing this growth and popularity amongst people, in 2017, Fashionphile was awarded 50 Best Workplaces by The Silicon Review.

From the initialization of the Fashionphile, it's quite the evolution from humble beginnings in 1999 as an eBay. The founder of Fashionphile says "We've done every single job in the building," Davis says. "There was a point when Ben or I did all of the packing and shipping, photography, authentication, pricing and customer service." so the hard work pays off and Fashionphile is a brand now. Initially, Davis was doing all of the stuff by herself; later she decided to bring on brother-in-law Hemminger around 2006 as there was an opportunity to grow the business beyond its auction roots and a good businessman grabs the opportunity at the right time. At that time, she exclusively dealt in secondhand Louis Vuitton, having logged hours to learn how to authenticate the brand and name; with Hemminger on board, they aimed to broaden the business, but proceeded very passionately and carefully.

Together, devis and Hemminger, they began to familiarize themselves with more creators and designers, starting with Chanel. They spend months shopping through stores, buying bags, taking them apart and checking the parameters of them with other counterfeits until they feel comfortable with the item literally from the inside out. When they were done, they wrote a "guide" to authentication, and still, Fashionphile uses those guides today as well. This is the evidence by the binders together on the desks of their authenticators. And as the brands they accept evolving and accepting new trends, ideas and takes on new creative directors.

This passion for fashion has made Fashionphile what it is today. Hemminger admits that "We recognize that there's a cost of sharing the information that we have or the tools that we have - it might help a competitor, or we'll lose a couple of sales," "But the other side of it is, by being the authority in the marketplace and being out there with all your information, you become more of a household name, you become recognized for your authority and the brand grows. I think we don't want be too tight-fisted about it because we realize that being generous is a two-way street." and this makes it clear that how the business grows so big and touching the peaks of success today.
