Kate Spade New York is basically an American luxury fashion design house founded in the year January 1993 by the founders Kate and Andy Spade. Jack Spade is Kate Spade's line for men's attire. Kate Spade New York competes with Michael Kors.  In the year 2017, the company was purchased by, and is now part of, Tapestry, Inc. and is formerly known as Coach. Katherine Noel Brosnahan also known as Kate Spade was born on December 24, 1962, in Kansas City in the region of Missouri. She grew up in Kansas City and studied at an all-girls Catholic high school. Eventually, later she moved to Arizona, where she attended Arizona State University and graduated in the year 1985. It is the place where she met her future husband, Andy Spade. Katherine majored in the field of journalism, while Andy majored in the field of architecture.

Kate Spade New York was founded in 1993 by Katherine Noel Brosnahan and her husband as well as her business partner Andy Spade. Kate Spade New York established after a suggestion from Andy. Katherine wasn't sure about her next career move after logging six years at Mademoiselle so Andy gave her an idea about the fashion house, now known as the Kate Spade. Originally, the business initiated with the Sam handbag and was only making colorful designer lively bags for consumers.  Eventually, Andy withdrew $35,000 from his 401K account to fund the production of Kate's designer handbags. Her debut the line  which infused classic shapes, designs, colors and fabrics into a now iconic square bag with a little twist and the twist was a little black label sewn to the outside of the bag saying "Kate Spade New York." Kate Spade's very first handbag was sold in January 1993. After some short period, the initial products were from the brand released, new collections came out which contained the dresses, glasses, jewelry, and all other small accessories for females. In the year 2007, "kate spade at home" was launched by Kate which is known as a home collection brand. It features the items in homes like bedding, bath items, china, and various items for the home and the wallpaper. In the year April 2013, Kate Spade New York launched a new product known as Live Colorfully which was a fragrance. Previous perfumes from the Kate spade fashion house include Kate Spade from 2003 and Twirl from 2010. Live colorfully is a fragrance made in-house which marked the 20th anniversary of the brand. Each and every product sold from the Spade's is packaged, and each one of them has a descriptive card which contains an informative description of Kate and Andy's journey to the top.
