The Swarovski Crystal Business is one of the highest grossing business units within Swarovski. It's a global organization which is an Austrian producer of glass. Its headquarter is situated in Wattens, Austria, and it has existed as a family-owned business. The business was founded in the year 1895 by Daniel Swarovski. Taking numbers into consideration, so, this company comes with a global reach of approximately 3,000 stores in about 170 countries all around the world and more than 29,000 employees, and a revenue of about 2.7 billion Euros (in 2018). The company owns a vast business and mainly it is split into three major industry areas: the Swarovski Crystal Business which primarily works in producing Crystal glass, jewelry as well as accessories. Another one is Swarovski Optic which works in producing optical instruments like telescopes, telescopic sights for rifles, and binoculars. One last branch of the same sname is Tyrolit which is a manufacturer of grinding, sawing, drilling, and dressing tools; it's a supplier of tools and machines as well.
Swarovski is family owned business and now run by the fifth generation of family members. Swarovski works in production industry by producing the products such as glass sculptures, miniature, jewelry, rhinestones, home decor, and chandeliers. All sculptures are marked with a brand logo. The original edelweiss flower Swarovski logo was replaced by an S.A.L. logo, which was replaced with the swan logo in the year 1988. Swarovski mainly focuses on the product quality which should be there to satisfy the customer so that the truth is built amongst the people. Providing a reliable product to the customer surely affects the sales of the company making much profit. The glass made at Swarovski is produced by melting a mixture of quartz sand, soda, potash and other ingredients at required high temperatures. The material is exclusive enough to make the best. The material Lead, usually used in the form of lead tetroxide, is not used now. All the Swarovski Crystal glass is produced without any use of lead since the year 2012. All Swarovski glasses are lead-free. To create crystal glass in order to let light refract to form a rainbow spectrum, Swarovski coats some of its products with special metallic chemical coatings so that the beauty of the spectrum refracts through it. For example, Aurora Borealis, shortly known as "AB", gives the surface a rainbow appearance which looks really beautiful when it's used in various angles and structures. Other coatings are named by the Swarovski, including Crystal Transmission, Volcano, Aurum, Shimmer, and Dorado. Coatings may be applied to only part of an object or to an entire product depending on the customer's need and the product's structure. Some products are coated twice, and thus are designated AB 2X, Dorado 2X, etc.
In the year 2004 Swarovski released Xilion, a copyrighted cut designed to optimize the brilliance of Roses known as components with flat backs and Chatons (diamond cut). From the year 2006, the Royal Canadian Mint has issued collectors' coins along with Swarovski crystal components.
