THE DESIGNER WHO REVOLUTIONISED MENSWEAR
Born in 1968, Craig Green's a British fashion designer and founder of Craig Green (his organization) which focuses especially on men's wear. He established his namesake company label in the year 2012; shortly after graduating from Central Saint Martin, majoring in fashion. The 34-year-old genius's motto is, unlike most menswear that just merely makes you feel better, Green would rather make you feel seen. He has since earned a lot of fame and love both nationally and internationally.
I am sure you're wondering how one would describe Green's work; well let's put it in this way, his art or work is a mix of wild creative brilliance, conceptualization, and commercial business sense.
Craig might be considered as one of the most misinterpreted menswear designers but Green has always made it a point to focus on men's vulnerability and fragility as a counter-narrative to our daily assumptions about the toxic male aggressiveness. Green wants men to see themselves in a different and a new light always, that's his main goal and motto.
While many consider his art or fashion a bit absurd and fail to understand his point of view. The rest recognizes and applauds his talent and is regarded as one of the best fashion designers of his generation. Whose catwalks are not only just merely daring but it never fails to inspire emotion and wonder. It also takes a distinct take on the uniform dressing! Never fails to amaze and woo his loyal customers and international buyers.
Workwear jackets and shirts are his bestsellers but you'll be surprised to know even those daring and very directional catwalk items sell equally fine.
His shoppers are not only limited to male buyers but there are several female buyers as well!
But, why is he so obsessed with the idea of uniforms? His take on the uniform is very different, in one of the interviews, he said, "Not the uniform of stature, but uniform for function. My family is all carpenters, plumbers, upholsterers. My mum was a nurse. They all wore uniforms you could work in."Green further explains according to him," It might just be because people don't wear uniforms anymore, and I think there's something romantic about having a communal way of dress, or that one size fits all utilitarian workwear feeling." People often consider uniforms as a sign of oppression but uniforms according to him are not a sign of being oppressed rather democratic.
His relentless hard work and attention to quality have surely paid off. We, his loyal supporters, and the fashion industry will be waiting and watching with interest as he keeps on unveiling his new collections in the future.
Concluding, from the very beginning his products have always resonated with his fashion-conscious customers who are seeking out the very best in new design and he never fails to amaze us with his ew designs.
